Putting the eeekkk in Entrepreneurship

Oh wow! We’re about to open! Soon, so soon.

We’re excited beyond belief. There’s been much to do and many moving parts. We admit to taking a few naps under clothing racks and drinking enough coffee to keep the local corner store in business for months. We are very excited to get out of these paint-spattered pants and into some of Rural Fashion Girl’s clothes. We hope you are, too!

What did this whole process look like?

First, we worked hard on the business plan and company setup. Then we hit the road, the net, and the world to buy the best that we could find for you. Next, we made a brand identity, a marketing strategy, and overall plan of action. Finally, we worked day and night to create an awesome physical shopping experience for you.

Oh, and we spent hours and hours with customer support to set up our high-tech systems. Good thing that we have teenagers helping us out who could get our electronics going. How do they do that?!

The quote that best describes this entrepreneurship journey thus far was found on our counter as we moved things around the other day. That quote is: “It’s not the light at the end of the tunnel that matters. It’s the light within.” This project, we've learned, is about staying true to you. It’s about working hard and having fun. Staying light.

In business, like in life, you have setbacks and successes. There is no way around it. What matters most is how you deal with the ups and downs. We’ve done our best. That’s all you can do. Learn, learn, and learn some more. Learn about the industry, about your market, about yourself and others.

So, as first time and second time entrepreneurs, we are getting it sorted, and are enjoying each step and each other. We figure that this, like life, is not about the light at the end of a dark tunnel. Rather, it’s about the process. It’s the light that you keep burning within despite the darkness that matters most.

Stay bright, stay fabulous!
